This app is for employers seeking to hire workers. ZipRecruiter lets employers post job openings to major job sites around the internet, including Indeed.com, CareerJet, SimplyHired, and more. It also makes it easier to recruit job candidates through social media. The app also has a function that allows job seekers to look for openings on major job sites.

ZipRecruiter was founded in 2010 by start-up veterans from sites such as Rent.com, Stamps.com and ThisNext. It is aimed mainly at other people from internet startup companies who are looking to hire new staff. Since its launch, ZipRecruiter has received positive reviews from media such as Entrepreneur Magazine, StartHup.com and others. The feature that is causing at least some of the app's popularity is its candidate screening function.

Apps for recruiters are increasingly common. ZipRecruiter, like most of them, allows recruiters to advertise their job openings on many job boards at once. The app seeks to stand out from all of the others by adding a screening function. The screening function allows the app's users to ask a few simple questions of potential candidates automatically. Based on those questions, many of the candidates can be filtered out. The app makes the selection process easier.

The app is easy to use. The hardest part for an employer would be filling in the job description and other data needed so the app can post the job. Cut and paste can be used when filling out job descriptions, however. The description box also includes an option to preserve formatting. The site allows users to post one job for free as a sample. After that, it has various price levels for companies of various sizes.

To register, you click the sign up button on the app's home page. This takes you to a series of boxes where you fill in your name, e-mail address, phone number and password. You also must fill in basic information about your company, such as name and company type. From there, the recruiter must select the package he or she wants based on how many employees they are seeking.

It costs $59 a month to maintain three "job slots." ZipRecruiter defines job slots as "the maximum number of ads you can have posted simultaneously." It costs $199 a month to have as many as 50 active job slots. If you select to pay on an annual basis, you receive two free months.

The app is for medium to large companies. Recruiters who don't have enough time to find and screen large numbers of employees may find that it saves both time and money. The screening function is best for saving time for recruiters.
